Your Question: Post Inspector View is different than what LinkedIn Website shows:
I am trying to figure out why I can't post a link to my site with a large image. I've confirmed that all the meta tags are correct, the image is the appropriate dimensions/file size, and everything works in the Post Inspector. However, whenever I try to post it using LinkedIn website, it always gives me the small narrow card. Can you help explain why it looks different in Post Inspector vs actual LinkedIn site?
Thanks for contacting us. Someone from our support team will get back to you as soon as possible.
Regards,
Your LinkedIn Customer Experience Team
I'm noticing this is also the case for some of my other sites. For instance, this URL shows as large card on LinkedIn Inspector yet shows small image when I try to post.
https://www.showbizjobs.com/jobs/sony-music-a-r-scout-in-culver-city/jid-6kk2yj
Lastly, the same problem exists (large card on Post Inspector, small image on post) for major publications like these links:

Hi [Me],
I hope this email finds you well. Greetings from LinkedIn. Thank you for writing to us. My name is [Rep #1] and I will be delighted to assist you with your query.
I understand that you are facing an issue with post.
This is the LinkedIn layout that is why it is coming in horizontal form. It is coming like this so that you can see the complete details.
I hope you find this information helpful and I'd be happy to assist you if you have any other questions.

Sorry but this did not answer my question. >> This is the LinkedIn layout that is why it is coming in horizontal form Are you saying this is the ONLY LinkedIn layout now? Why does the LinkedIn Post Inspector show a different layout for that url? I want the LinkedIn post layout to appear with a big image and card like it shows on the Linkedin Post Inspector (see the screenshots). But instead, it is showing the smaller (harder to see) image. How do I get it to show the large image/card.
Hi [Me],
Thanks for your reply. When you post, message, or write an article with a URL, the preview window may show an old image that is cached. This means that if you have shared the same URL before, the image might already have been stored in the cache and that's what you see when you try to add it to your new post, message, or article. You can use the Post Inspector as a tool to refresh the URL.
To use the post inspector tool to refresh URL:
Note: The changes you make will only affect the URL's preview image and information for new posts that include it. The preview for any existing posts with this URL will remain the same.
Please let me know if you have further questions and thanks for using LinkedIn!

I've done that many times and it does not work. Here's a new URL that has never been shared on LinkedIn. Try to post it to your LinkedIn feed. Does it show up as a big card or small thumbnail card.
https://www.showbizjobs.com/jobs/wanf-digital-content-producer-in-atlanta/jid-4k5xky
My guess is it will be a small thumbnail card. Then put it into the Post Inspector and you will see it appears as a large card. You can do your refresh routine to make sure the cache uses this new card. Now try to post that same link into your feed: Small thumbnail card, right? This is the problem
Hi [Me],
Thanks for your reply. To provide you with the best support, could you please share a screen recording of the issue you're experiencing? You can upload the recording to an external drive and send us the link, such as a Google Drive or Loom link.
Upload Video to Google Drive:

Attached is a Screenshot Video of the issue. You can see that the LinkedIn Post Inspector renders large card/images for each of the 4 sites:
BUT the ONLY one that is rendered correctly in the LinkedIn Post on my feed is the LinkedIn blog url.
VIDEO LINK: [redacted]
When I try to post anything that should have a large image/card (which abides by all the LinkedIn graph/meta tag image requirements/size/etc...) it never works EXCEPT if its a LinkedIn url. How can I fix that?
Hi [Me],
Thanks for your reply. I understand your concern but this how LinkedIn layout is. If you enter a URL into the Post Inspector, it forces LinkedIn to rescrape the URL, refreshing the preview image and clearing any cached data. This means it can display the most up-to-date structure of metadata provided
I hope you find this information helpful and I'd be happy to assist you if you have any other questions.

Once again, the issue is not resolved. If you look at the video I sent, I am using the Post Inspector BEFORE I try to post the listing. Any cached versions would show the same large card/image that were retrieved by the Post Inspector. Yet this does not happen and the small version gets posted. Try it yourself with any of the links that I sent to you in my last reply. When you try to post to your LinkedIn feed, do you get the big card or the small one?
Seriously [Rep #1], I don't think you are understanding my problem at all. Is there someone else in support who could assist with this issue? It all comes down to this question: How do I post a url link to my LinkedIn feed that shows the large card/image instead of the small/narrow thumbnail?
Hi [Me],
Thanks for your reply. I understand that you're facing an issue with how your post appears on LinkedIn, and I truly empathize with the confusion this may have caused. Please know that your concern is completely valid, and we appreciate you bringing it to our attention.
The horizontal layout you're seeing is part of LinkedIn's design framework. It's intentionally structured this way to ensure that all post details are visible in a streamlined format. While it may seem unusual at first, this layout helps maintain consistency across devices and allows viewers to access complete information without needing to expand or scroll excessively.
We recognize that this experience might not have met your expectations, and we're here to support you. If you have any specific feedback or suggestions regarding how the layout affects your post's visibility or engagement, we'd be happy to pass it along to the relevant team.
Thank you for your patience and understanding. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you need further assistance or clarification—we're always here to help.

[Rep #1], Once again, you seem to answer a question that is not the one I asked. In my last ticket, I asked "How do I post a url link to my LinkedIn feed that shows the large card/image instead of the small/narrow thumbnail?" ...and you gave me an answer about "The horizontal layout you're seeing is part of LinkedIn's design framework. It's intentionally structured this way to ensure that all post details are visible in a streamlined format." That doesn't REALLY answer my question does it? So, let's try again a different way, shall we? Run this one past your supervisor if you don't mind: Try to post the following 2 URLs to your LinkedIn feed via the LinkedIn website.
What do you see different about those two URLs when you post them on your computer? Can you at least tell me that? Now try to examine those URLs in LinkedIn Post Inspector. What do you notice about both of those URLs in that tool? If you can tell me the answer to those 2 questions, I would greatly appreciate it.
Just checking back in to see if you got my previous email and could answer those 2 questions. Thanks
Hi [Me],
Thanks for your reply. I would suggest you to upload that post. and if the error still persist please let me know.
I look forward to your response in order to further assist you.

[Rep #1] - this is super frustrating because I've already given you a video of exactly what it looked like (see previous message) but I will attach ANOTHER version so you can see it. Can you tell me what it looks like on YOUR end when you try to post this URL to your feed and what it looks like on LinkedIn Post inspector. Then tell me WHY they are different and HOW I can get it to look like a large card.

Hi [Me],
I hope this email finds you well. Thank you for contacting LinkedIn. My name is [Rep #2], and I'll be assisting you today. I'm truly sorry for the frustration you've experienced—especially after already sharing a video to show exactly what's happening on your end. I understand how discouraging it can be to have to provide the same evidence again, and I appreciate your patience and willingness to help us get to the bottom of this.
In relation to your concern, I would like to inform you that if you'd like people to be able to share your sites content on LinkedIn, the source code on your site needs to comply with certain requirements.
If you're not the developer for your website, we recommend contacting your sites developer and asking them to review the guidelines below.
If you're the developer of your website, you'll need to make sure the source code complies with Open Graph Protocol (OGP) and certain image requirements specific to LinkedIn.
Our developer website contains more details on setting display tags for shares (available in English only).

Hello [Rep #2]. Welcome to the discussion. To answer your question - I am the developer so am familiar with the LinkedIn Open Graph requirements and all the example pages I've given comply with those requirements. Can I ask if you are a developer? If not, can you please pass my question on to a technical engineer/developer at LinkedIn as I think they will understand this problem better than the last support person. Here is what I sent before - can you try this out and let me know what you get on your end. My goal is to be able to post a LinkedIn post that includes a large image/card (Horizontal/landscape) instead of the small horizontal thumbnail. And that does not seem to be possible using any URL even if it complies with the OG specs. Try to post the following 2 URLs to your LinkedIn feed via the LinkedIn website.
What do you see different about those two URLs when you post them on your computer? Can you at least tell me that? Now try to examine those URLs in LinkedIn Post Inspector.
